Gong Hay Fat Choy

I know, I have neglected my blogging duties.  I've been so busy this holiday season!  I hope everyone and their families had a wonderful holiday and New Year.  I finished my last production run of the luxe gilet for the fw08 collection with an XL size added per requests.   There are a few left at Secession Art & Design on Mission St .  Large sizes have been going fast, I think adults are trying to squeeze into them : )

a monkey among us

I had to save the "lil monkey" for my little monkey!

Happy New Year!

I was trying to figure out fun little gifts to give all of Nate's little cousins and my friends' babies for Christmas.  Due to my limited income, I came up with these "lil minors."  I made them out of the cashmere and merino wool sweater scraps from the leggings and vest linings.  My favorites are the bunnies with the vintage fur scrap pom-pom tails.  I also stuffed them with the sweater scraps and the organic jersey/rib scraps from the tees and tunics -- talk about recycling!  I used up all my scrap materials!  There is something about creating these "lil minors" that is very theraputic for me.

Eden, from Secession, saw them and wants them in her store now.  I better get cranking......

cozy and soft

Here is the legging assortment for the Secession party this Friday.  We have recycled & reconditioned cashmere, cashmere blend, merino wool and a herringbone cotton knit.  I love all the yummy textures paired with the subtle colors.  I hope you will like them too!

wearing all hats

I'm really a slacker when it comes to this blogging!  But, hey, I have been working HARD!  The past week, I've been perfecting the patterns, sewing samples, and paying my kids quarters and gummies to try things on (my son's a size 4, I don't tell him it's girl's clothes -- the leggings and tops look great on him!).  The organic cotton jersey and rib that was rushed from NearSeas Naturals are amazingly soft! They are going to be used for the tees and tunics.  I forgot that there's so much prep work when you are marking and cutting -- I had to lay out the fabrics to let them recover and rest, get creative with the fabric consumption when I laid out the graded patterns, cut-organize-bundle all the pieces for the sewers. Whew! I have to say that I'm pretty proud that I can get a concept going and 6 piece mini collection produced in a month.  Minor is still in its infancy stage at this point.  This past month was the easy stuff.  It isn't even touching on all the work that need to be done for the next step!

There will be sort of a preview and shop of minor's fw08 collection at Secession Art and Design, next week, Dec 12.  It would be great to see everybody and get feedback.  I'm working on a little gift with purchase incentive : ) Invite and details to follow.....
